Jackie thinks life is perfect just like it is. She is in love with a beautiful woman. Michael is a teen and self-reliant enough that she can go about with her social calendar. She even gave in to Norma and is building a new house.

Norma wants to have 6 grandkids, plain and simple. Not only is that an awful lot to put on Michael's shoulders, but she wants to feel the kick of a baby inside her. Fooling around in the all-girls dorm at their private school was exciting because it was taboo, but now she finds it dull and boring. She loves Jackie dearly, but she wants things out of life that Jackie just can't give her.
